I may be wrong. But mounting and shooting that 17-85 ef-s lens on a D30 may damage both the lens and the camera’s mirror.
D30 isn’t ef-s compatible.

…looking closer, that body in the picture is a 30D not a “d30″. The 30D is ef-s compatible….the d30 is not.
