Monday, May 16, 2005

I’m not normally one to take quizzes… ie not being a 14 year old goth on livejournal… but I saw this one and it tickled my fancy.

You scored as Postmodernist. Postmodernism is the belief in complete open interpretation. You see the universe as a collection of information with varying ways of putting it together. There is no absolute truth for you; even the most hardened facts are open to interpretation. Meaning relies on context and even the language you use to describe things should be subject to analysis.

Moovl has got to be

Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Moovl has got to be the coolest thing since Sodaplay. Which is no surprise cause it’s made by the same people. It’s just like flash but with crayons, string and springs. If I had this sort of thing when I was a kid I’d be an animator now.

I stuck my ipod on shuffle for the first time today; relinquishin control to the machine. Like everyone else I’m entranced by it’s synchronistic magic.

Neuro-Evolving Robotic Operatives is a game developed out of the AI research dept at University of Texas. Back to the old idea of training up agents and then sticking ‘em in an arena to duke it out.

It looks like they want to eventually commercialise this. This sort of thing would make an interesting game as long as the right amount of involvement and interaction was kept. To keep it an interesting RTS style game would require on the job type training I think as well as some direct control. Not the pre-arena training… no point seperating the two games. Like the way Black and White works, but with viscious little robots.
