Are You Living in a Computer Simulation? A piece by academic posthumanist Nick Bostrom. Much of it seems like good old Cartesian doubt to me. If we are an integral part of the simulation then there would be no way to tell this. We would be part of the simulation and thus be unable to ascertain what went on outside the limits of our “universe”.
This would be the case if we either had evolved from a simpole set of pre-conditions or we had been teleologically designed to be in a situation close to what we are experiencing today.
