Robot Teaches Itself Flying Skills in Three Hours. On the way tries cheating, uses it’s balsa wood wings to stand and then climb nearby boxes… but those wacky swedish techies just tell it off and it eventually learns how to flap it’s wings. It still doesn’t get off the ground becasuse it’s engine is too heavy.

Reminds me of the little flying microbots that were made in Japan a few years ago. The japanese scientists had found that the batteries needed to supply the power to these things were too heavy, so they just made an enourmous electric field and let the little insect like robots to fly around inside the field.
