Yes, Pikachu and his little friends can be relegated to the uncool corner of the toybox. Micro pets are released next month at a parent trap near you. Only 3.5 cm tall, they are claimed to be the smallest voice recognition toys in the world. They respond to voice and clapping commands. My favourite already, is Popsy the cat. (Hint, my birthday is in November)
