Went to NTK/Mute’s extreme computing conference today. Never before have I seen such an unadulterated mass of black clothes and long dandruffy hair. (I think all the other tech conferences i’ve been too had at least a smattering of suits. Any one wearing a tie at XCOM would no doubt have been hanging from the rafters.)
Missed the one thing I truly wanted to see, the panel discussion with Freeman Dyson. Now I probably wont get to see him talk… maybe see some recording. I did see him tottering around the hall and signing books with a shaky hand, so that’s a plus. He looked completely ancient, even his son George looked far too old.
